MEeKs/One heart at a time, walking the wandering animals of life

MEeKs/One heart at a time, walking the wandering animals of life

In modern society, people have paid more attention to stray animals. However, we can still see many stray animals, and that is the reason we focus on this topic, we want to do something for them. We have visited some animal shelters in Kaohsiung. There are some funded by private organizations and two others from the government, Kaohsiung City Animal Protection Office, which located in Shoushan and Yanchao. Even though the environment in animal shelters have improved, but due to a large amount of stray animal, most animal shelters can only found in the suburbs, which is not convenience. Therefore, we came up with the idea of halfway shelters. We take the animals that are prepared to be adopted to this halfway shelter, let them be able to get closer and familiar to people. In this place, it is no longer stray animals entering our community, but we go into their life. Here we build every base in the animal’s needs, and we create various spaces depending on their hobbits. The outer appearance will use blocks to construct with different sizes of holes to make a normal house to a piece of art. An animal shelter is no longer dull and ordinary but artistic.
