台南中山市場為複合型態的場域空間，地理位置處於觀光與文藝氣息繁盛的位置，將其注入文創產業的方式來復興空間。
於此同時，將現況已經消逝的巷弄紋理重新整理出來之後，再將原建築及空地作為園區加以改造，除了讓市場重新恢復生機，還增設具有教育意義的創課空間和買賣場域，以及重新規劃動線連接「吳園藝文中心」，將在文藝中心的遊客帶入到園區當中，增加人潮聚留。
