在一片草原上沒有城牆的出現，只有零星的聚落，隨著時間的推進開始有民變等戰爭的發生，人們開始築起城牆抵禦，日後發生大大小小的戰爭及都市尺度的轉變，影響了如今的古城牆殘跡，呈現多樣的型態。有的保留完整、有的被道路截斷、有的殘缺與民宅結合、有的則倒塌作為散落的景觀... ，現今見城計畫已逐漸完成，但南門與北門的歷史文化修復則較為薄弱，北門因歷史的停留如今的城內景觀仍保留當時些許樣貌，南門因日治時期的都市改政，已轉變為都市型態，因此我將文化歷史作為修復的要點，北門以鋼構作為修復並透過，建城，見城及建層，三種型態呈現不同的歷史風景，南門則透過軸線的重現將龜山與蛇山軸線延伸創造地形，及各城門的軸線創造現代化的水泥牆，並作為歷史的修復，城牆的修補呈現了過去舊城的樣貌，並透過開口看見曾經因戰爭等因素被破壞的城牆歷史，透過城牆將人內心看見舊城的期望壓縮至新的城牆之中，透過地形的起伏其城牆的開口看見歷史。
On a vast grassland, there were no appearances of city walls, only scattered settlements. With the passage of time, conflicts such as rebellions and wars began to occur. People started building city walls for defense. Subsequent wars, both large and small in scale, and urban transformations influenced the diverse forms of ancient city wall remnants we see today. Some remain intact, some are intersected by roads, some are integrated with residential houses, and some have collapsed, scattered across the landscape...
The current urban renewal project has gradually been completed. However, the historical and cultural restoration of the South Gate and North Gate remains relatively weak. The landscape inside the city still retains some semblance of the past at the North Gate due to its historical preservation. However, the South Gate has transformed into an urban form due to urban governance changes during the Japanese colonial period. Therefore, I prioritize cultural history in the restoration process. For the North Gate, I use steel structure restoration and present three different historical landscapes through the construction, observation, and building layers. For the South Gate, I recreate the axis by extending the Gueishan and Sheshan axis to create terrain and modern cement walls at each city gate, serving as historical restoration. The repair of the city walls presents the appearance of the old city, and through the openings, the historical walls damaged by wars and other factors are visible. Through the city walls, people compress their expectations of the old city into the new walls. Through the undulations of the terrain, the openings in the city walls reveal history.
