在2003年，台南爆發了登革熱疫情，大港社區為警戒級疫區。黃執行長在尋求解決問題的過程中，投入香草種植與思考社區營造的可能性，在尋求解決問題的過程中，研究企業的經營模式，從大港社區開始發展再投入香草產業，並將收益回饋社區，提供社區區民更高的生活品質。

大港香草夢工坊是台灣少數推行社區永續發展的企業。社區永續發展可提高居民的生活品質和創造就業機會，可以促進香草業在大港社區發展。我們希望可以向大眾鼓勵社區永續發展。
