一開始會有這個靈感是因為我們學校就在山裡,隨便往外一看就是綿延的山景,便聯想到古代人看到奇怪的景觀(ex.龍卷風、奇怪的雲)就覺得他是龍,所以逐漸有了關於龍的傳說,也是因為這樣才有了龍的型態流傳,但這些所謂的「龍」其實都是山水奇景自然現象,所以我們會使用到一些山水雲紋,因為這些就是古代人所看見的「龍」。

主要風格為敦煌中式風

至於為什麼會用敦煌元素,則是因為敦煌的特色之一便是飛天壁畫,前面也說了龘的意思是龍在天上飛,有都是「飛天」的這個關聯性在,而且在敦煌的壁畫中存在著許多瑞獸,除了最廣為人知的九色鹿以外,還有青鳥、翼馬以及守寶龍。

說到龍就不得不提一下「龍生九子」的故事,我們這次的作品也有往這個方向去做延伸,有一句古話是說:「龍生九子,各有不同。」這個各有不同的部分就是在指他們長的都不一樣,因為它們是分別由九種不同的動物與龍混血而生,不過這個「9」並不是真的只有九位龍子。在中國傳統文化中,以九來表示極多,九又是貴數,所以用來描述龍子,並非具體數量。

Initially, the inspiration comes from our school being located in the mountains, with endless mountain views. This led me to think about how ancient people, when seeing strange phenomena like tornadoes or unusual clouds, would interpret them as dragons. Thus, legends about dragons gradually formed, and the dragon's image was passed down. However, these so-called 'dragons' were actually natural phenomena of mountain landscapes and clouds, so we incorporate elements of mountains, waters, and clouds, as these were what ancient people saw as 'dragons.'

The main style is Dunhuang Chinese style.

As for why we use Dunhuang elements, one of the features of Dunhuang is its flying celestial beings mural. As mentioned earlier, 'TÀ' means dragons flying in the sky, so there's a connection to 'flying celestial beings.' Additionally, Dunhuang murals often depict various auspicious beasts, not just the widely known Nine-Colored Deer, but also the Blue Bird, Winged Horse, and Guardian Dragon.

Speaking of dragons, we cannot ignore the story of 'Dragon's Nine Sons.' Our work this time also extends in this direction. There's an ancient saying: 'Dragon begets nine sons, each different.' The 'each different' part refers to them all looking different because they are hybrids of dragons and nine different animals. However, this '9' does not mean there are only nine dragon sons. In traditional Chinese culture, 'nine' signifies a lot, and it is a noble number, hence used to describe dragon sons, not a specific quantity.
