起初因其中一位組員於自由黃昏市場附近生活並在那期間觀察了該基地的優劣勢，經過討論後便決定與組員深入觀察現況…
經過觀察，我們發現以下5點關於市場現況的情形與問題:
體驗問題:外觀上有大量的直立式廣告看板，內部攤位狹小不易攤商活動。
配置問題:停車空間四散且佔地面積過大，有許多無攤商的閒置攤位。
內部動線:出入口因共用了停車空間而壅擠，後勤空間位於深處不便進出貨。
通風採光:通風設備過於直觀且吵雜，因深遮陽且無採光口使光線無法照入。
外部交通:騎士與人過馬路時總是得跟汽車比快，道路交界處無交通號誌管制。
和近代的新型市場比對後，我們發現有些問題其實能參考新市場並將其優勢納入傳統市場中來解決，為此我們提出以下對策來改善自由黃昏市場:
人與車流:移除內部後勤通道和延伸公園步道至基地。
停車空間:改成立體停車場，釋放彈性空間。
後勤空間:移至路邊以便進出。
攤位空間:淘汰閒置攤位後，將市場面積疊加並擴寬。
景觀構想:將公園綠地延伸至基地並參考周邊地景元素。
建築外觀:以LED透明螢幕取代立面看板並增加採光口與通風口。
Anticipating that the market can transform from its past shabby appearance into a space that suits the modern era, thereby breaking free from the current disharmony between the site and the environment, allowing it to be reborn and harmonize with the surroundings during the transformation process.
Initially, one of the team members lived near the Ziyou Traditional Market and observed the advantages and disadvantages of the site during that time. After discussion, it was decided to conduct an in-depth observation with the team member.
After observation, we found the following 5 situations and problems regarding the current state of the market:
Experience issue: There are a large number of vertical billboards on the exterior, and the interior booths are small and not conducive to merchant activities.
Layout issue: Parking spaces are scattered and occupied a large area, and the interior coexist with many vacant stalls without merchants.
Internal circulation: The entrances and exits are crowded due to the shared use of parking spaces, and the logistics space is located deep inside the site, making it inconvenient for goods to enter and exit.
Ventilation and lighting: The ventilation equipment is too direct and noisy, and the deep shading with lack of skylights prevent light from entering.
External traffic: Motorcyclists and pedestrians always have to compete with cars when crossing the road, and there is no traffic signal control at the road junction.
After comparing with the newly emerging modern markets, we found that some issues can actually be addressed by referring to the new markets and incorporating their advantages into the traditional market. Therefore, we propose the following strategies to improve the Ziyou Traditional Market:
Pedestrian and vehicular flow: Remove the internal logistics passage and extend the park walkway to the site.
Parking space: Convert it into a multi-level parking lot to release flexible space.
Logistics space: Logistics space: relocate to the roadside for easier loading and unloading.
Stall space: After eliminating vacant stalls, overlap and expand the market area.
Conceptual landscape: Extend the park greenery to the site and reference surrounding landscape elements.
Exterior architecture: Replace the facade billboards with LED transparent screens and add skylights and ventilation openings.
