隨著時代的改變，現代科技的迅猛發展導致許多傳統工藝逐漸式微甚至消失殆盡。然而，我們選擇在南投進行基地建設的原因不僅僅是因為南投擁有全台灣最大的竹林種植面積和最多元的竹材資源，更是因為南投地區的竹子資源豐富，利用當地竹子和石材作為建材，不僅符合節能減碳的要求，更體現了可持續發展的理念。竹子作為一種可再生材料，具有節能環保的特性，不僅可以減少對自然資源的消耗，還能降低能源的使用。與此同時，使用當地石材也能大幅降低運輸成本和碳排放，相對於進口或從遠處運送的石材，這種做法更具經濟效益和環境友好性。
竹山玫瑰天主堂在環境方面存在著一些問題，例如空間配置混亂、使用空間破舊以及動線不明確等。為了改善這些問題，我們進行了環境整理和重新規劃工作。通過利用軸線區分空間，我們保留了主要的教堂和修女院的原始位置，同時對其他空間進行了重新規劃和布局，以提升整個建築的使用效率和美觀度。重新整理環境和規劃空間不僅可以改善現有問題，還能使建築更加適合當代人的需求和生活方式，為信徒提供更舒適、便利的宗教活動場所。

In our project, the choice of Nantou as the location for our base construction is not only due to its possession of the largest bamboo forest and diverse bamboo resources, but also its abundant sources of bamboo. By utilizing local bamboo and masonry as construction materials, we can meet the requirements of energy conservation and carbon reduction, while also promoting the idea of sustainable development.
Bamboo possesses properties that promote energy conservation and eco-friendliness. Using bamboo as a construction material can reduce the consumption of natural resources and decrease energy usage. Additionally, by utilizing local masonry, we can significantly reduce transportation costs and carbon emissions compared to importing materials from other counties. Our approach appears to be more economically efficient and environmentally friendly.
Zhushan Rosary Church faces several issues that need to be addressed, such as chaotic space management, dilapidated interior spaces, and unclear traffic flow. To tackle these challenges, we have reorganized and cleaned the environment. Through the use of an axis to redistribute the space, we have preserved the original locations of the main church and nunnery. Simultaneously, we have redesigned the layout of other spaces to increase efficiency and aesthetic appeal. The reallocated environment not only resolves current issues but also meets the contemporary requirements of people's lifestyles, providing believers with a comfortable and convenient environment."
