燈具設計意旨在探索光與影的蛻變，象徵著過去以及成長變化。融合了斗笠與海螺的象徵，斗笠乘載著日出與日落，象徵保護與智慧的傳承；而海螺的螺旋形則代表生命的循環和變化。燈具慢慢轉動時，每層竹編在燈光的照射下會產生不同的光影變化，宛如一次又一次的蛻變，每一次燈具的蛻變，都彷彿訴說著日出與日落的故事，抑或者是生活中的歷程及成長。利用竹編與光結合，在旋轉的同時投射出更複雜的光影變化，創造出獨特的視覺效果。
亞洲擁有全球最廣泛的竹林分佈，僅台灣就有近180,000公頃的竹子覆蓋區。在1950年代到1970年代，台灣的日常生活充斥著竹製家具和器具，是竹業繁榮的黃金時期。然而，隨著環境條件的變化，這個曾經興盛的竹業逐漸被塑膠所取代，同時勞動力成本上升也侵蝕了其市場競爭力。這樣的轉變使得竹業面臨衰退的挑戰。
透過《光竹舞》這個作品，我們不僅希望重新引入傳統竹藝，更藉由現代機械的融合，象徵過去與現在的變革。不僅是藝術的表現，更是對竹業的一種振興和再生。這樣的嘗試旨在創造竹業的新價值，讓竹藝在當代社會中重新燃起生機。透過這種結合傳統與現代的方式，我們期望為竹業帶來全新的發展，促進產業復興並贏得更廣泛的市場支持。
竹子作為台灣豐富傳統文化的重要組成部分。我們希望以不同傳統的方式向更多觀眾展示祖先留下的智慧，同時讓更多人了解和看見，讓更多人認識這種由古至今傳承下來的工藝。此外，我們也希望繼續傳承這些寶貴的技能，為竹藝工藝做出貢獻。
The lamp design aims to explore the metamorphosis of light and shadow, symbolizing both the past and the growth process. It combines the symbolism of a bamboo hat and a conch shell, where the bamboo hat represents the cycle of sunrise and sunset, symbolizing the inheritance of protection and wisdom, while the spiral shape of the conch symbolizes the cycle and transformation of life. As the lamp slowly rotates, each layer of bamboo weaving produces different light and shadow variations under the illumination of light, resembling repeated transformations, each telling a story of sunrise and sunset or the journey and growth in life. By combining bamboo weaving with light, it projects more complex light and shadow variations while spinning, creating a unique visual effect.
Asia boasts the most extensive distribution of bamboo forests globally, with Taiwan alone covering nearly 180,000 hectares of bamboo. From the 1950s to the 1970s, Taiwan's daily life was filled with bamboo-made furniture and utensils, marking the golden era of the bamboo industry. However, with changing environmental conditions, this once-thriving industry gradually gave way to plastic, while rising labor costs eroded its market competitiveness, posing challenges leading to its decline.
Through the artwork "Bamboo Waltz of Light," we aim not only to reintroduce traditional bamboo craftsmanship but also to symbolize the transition between the past and present through the integration of modern machinery. It's not just an artistic expression but also a revival and rejuvenation of the bamboo industry. This endeavor seeks to create new value, reigniting the vitality of bamboo craftsmanship in contemporary society. By blending tradition with modernity, we aspire to bring about fresh development for the bamboo industry, fostering its revitalization and gaining broader market support.
Bamboo is an essential component of Taiwan's rich traditional culture. We hope to showcase the wisdom left by our ancestors to a wider audience through various traditional means, promoting greater understanding and appreciation for this craft passed down through generations. Additionally, we aim to continue passing down these valuable skills, contributing to the legacy of bamboo craftsmanship.
