YAKU

YAKU

Growing up in Taiwan, as an aborigine, it seems that I have never really lived in this land. Two members of our group are from Hualien, one of the places with the highest concentration of indigenous people in Taiwan. The story we are going to tell is that of a Taroko man. After he entered a new environment, he introduced to everyone his proud status symbol-the tattooed face. The tattooed face represented that he could stand alone and embark on a journey protected by his ancestors. Rainbow Bridge, but the various unpleasant words and actions that happened in his life made him doubt and dissatisfied with his identity, and gradually lost confidence in himself, and the tattoo that represented independence and blessing also Then disappear.
Until one day he accidentally encountered a ramie field guided by the ancestral spirit. The white ramie was no different from the ramie that the ancestral spirit guided him to see in his memory. At that moment, it was like an enlightenment, and the haze that troubled her finally dispersed. At the end of the story, she found herself and realized who she was, whether she belonged to the city or remembered the tribe. At this moment, she was no longer confused.
